Counselling
Our counselling service supports pupils who have experienced trauma in its widest sense. It is designed to help children and young people to:
- Explore, process and resolve experiences they have found difficult
- Make and maintain positive relationships with others
- Build confidence and self-esteem, and learn to celebrate their achievements
- Recognise, understand and share their emotions
- Face the future with a positive, hope-filled outlook
- Develop self-monitoring and regulation skills
If something matters to one of our pupils, then it matters to us. Our service focuses on empowering pupils to develop long-term mental well-being through transferable self-help strategies that will last a lifetime. We create “sparkle moments” through creative, fun and play-based approaches, carefully tailored to the unique needs of each pupil.
All sessions are delivered by a qualified and experienced counsellor using a person-centred and relational approach.
How the service works
Schools and educational settings can purchase regular counselling sessions, during which a counsellor will work directly with pupils on-site (from Key Stage Two onwards). A remote service is also available on request.
